The MAX202CDR is a dual driver/receiver that is used to convert between standard TTL/CMOS and RS-232-compatible signals. This IC is capable of operating at data rates of up to 120Kbps and can be used with external capacitors to provide a wide range of operating voltages (from -7V to +12V). It also offers low power consumption, with a quiescent current of less than 1mA.
